cbm recently reached out to Christian healthcare workers and students during the recent Reflect Conferences, hosted by the Christian Medical Fellowship of NZ (CMFnz) and the Nurses Christian Fellowship New Zealand (NCFNZ).
Murray (CEO) and Elizabeth (Church and Community Engagement) attended the Auckland Conference and Bruce (Engagement Manager) and one of our caring cbm church ambassadors attended the Christchurch Conference.
Supported by a display stand and conversations with attendees, they shared cbm’s vision of an inclusive world in which all people with disabilities enjoy their human rights and achieve their full potential.
Poverty and disability go hand in hand creating a cycle of inequality, isolation and exclusion that leads to the most extreme forms of poverty.
Medical and rehabilitation services, and assistive devices are essential if children and adults with disabilities are to have the opportunity to attain their aspirations and reach their potential. Without this support, people with disabilities are at high risk of living in isolation, neglect or dependency on others for support.
cbm is grateful for the opportunity provided by the organisers of Reflect 2024, especially by Jenny Collings, the National Director CMFnz, and look forward to future collaboration between our two like-minded organisations.
